The dollhouses made by Plasco....Plastic Art Toy Corporation

In addition to the round dollhouse, Plasco made several other dollhouses that were sold along with their dollhouse furniture...including one made in Mexico. 

Marketed as "THE FINEST DOLL HOUSE A LITTLE GIRL EVER DREAMED ABOUT! ALL PLASTIC DOLL HOUSE -- sturdy, high impact plastic, COMPLETE -- seven rooms completely furnished, REAL AND MODERN -- ranch house architecture authentically styled, PARENT PLEASING -- easily assembled and mounted on 14 polyethelene buttons it can't scratch furniture surfaces. It has no equal in quality or sales."

 

 "....with seven rooms of furniture, Kitchen, Dining Room, Nursery, Living Room, Bathroom, Bedroom and Patio -- Roof is removable -- All doors open and shut, 38 x 18"

Bedroom, nursery, bath,  open living plan kitchen, dining and living rooms,  plus patio....

....furnished with Plasco furniture.

A later version had the same floor plan....

...but with a yellow roof.

This smaller version was made in Mexico.

The front of this house came with shrubs. 

Instead of a patio, this house has a step and gate. It is furnished with the more colorful furniture also made in Mexico.

Plasco made three other houses not found in the collection of my friend....but he did have the catalog pages to share with us! 

"Plastic replica of modern 4 room ranch-type house with removable roof for access to rooms....vividly colored.. ..shrubbery and flowers surrounding house also in full color."

"Layout consists of living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom each of which is separated by a strong cardboard partition. Walls and floors appropriately decorated." 

This smaller model was marketed as the "Little Miss Homemaker" ranch house....kitchen, dinette, living room, bath, bedroom and patio with 2 section removable roof. 

It was sold furnished "with real, large size furniture....even a television that changes stations....strong, lightweight removable roof. The entire house is mounted on scratch proof polyethylene buttons."

"Little Miss Homemaker split level doll house with furniture for six rooms - kitchen, dinette, living room, bathroom, bedroom and patio -  separate removable roofs on upper and lower level, strong and lightweight."

  

"All plastic - split level design - completely furnished. Authentic modern architectural design - even flowers and shrubs - all in durable  hi-impact plastic mounted on scratch proof polyethylene buttons. Open and shut doors - removable roof."

In Australia, the Marquis company produced a kitchen that looks exactly like the set made by Plasco, with the exception that the Marquis set added opening doors. It was common for plastic furniture mold designs to be used by other companies.

A great set for little girls and boys of the 1950s....

and now a great set for the big girls and boys of the 2020s!
